The sea had returned to it’s previous state - calm and gentle. Raiden looked from the waves and to the girl stood before him. It couldn’t have been a coincidence that the moment Anemone had calmed down the sea had too.
‘Her temperament influences the Sea’s state?' If so, Raiden would have to make a mental note never to anger or upset the teenager whenever by the Ocean.
Anemone’s comment about her not being a pain all of the time caused him to frown a little. He knew she wasn’t as huge a pain as he made her out to be. In fact he quite liked having her around. Which was the problem of course. It was the reason he had stomped off and caused the argument.. Or whatever that had been between himself and Anemone.
“I was going to take Fenrir back to Ella and then head back to the school.” Raiden explained finally and smirked a little when Anemone promised that she wouldn’t touch his ears.
“Don‘t you want to hang around with your friends?” He questioned, finding it odd that a student would prefer to hang around a professor at the weekend rather than her friends.

Tilting her head to one side, Anemone watched as Raiden looked between her and the water. Adding two and two together and coming up with four. She grinned widely, confirming what he was thinking without saying a word.
He went quiet. Something he did a lot, and something that Anemone didn't mind. Some people did that. Gyan was like that. You could be having a conversation with him and there would be long silences as he thought out his answers and mused. She wanted to laugh a little as she took a glance at where the people had accumulated. They were dispursing now, now the drama had disapparated. To them she and Raiden probably looked like a couple having a tiff. That was the thought that amused her.
When Raiden finally answered, Anemone looked at him, trying to hide her surprise and failing. "Ella?" Anemone repeated, "who's Ella? Your girlfriend?" Immediately Anemone wanted to take back her question. It wasn't her place to ask, and it wasn't her business. She wasn't sure why she asked. And likewise she wasn't entirely sure why her stomach had dropped to her feet when he mentioned her.
He asked her about whether she wanted to hang around with her friends. Anemone shrugged her shoulders, turning and walking onto the surface of the water where she stood, holding her hands loosely behind her back. "I don't really have any friends." She murmured. "I don't seem to make them that easily with humans. Fish or water mammals no problem. People... I find a little harder to relate to." She looked back at Raiden smiling a half-hearted smile that betrayed her deep set lonliness for a moment.
"Not that it really matters." Anemone brushed off her momentary weakness and squatting, fingered the surface of the water, "I don't really need anybody."
((Whee, momentary emo Anemone! :B))

“Girlfriend?” Raiden repeated looking mildly offended. He couldn’t ever imagine dating Ella. The very thought made him want to cringe.
“Ella..” He started and scratched at an ear. “.Is more like my mother.” He finished with a lazy shrug and when Fenrir began tugging at the bottom of his jeans, he knelt down to offer his dog some attention.
It was then he noticed the shell tied around his dogs neck. He caught the make-shift necklace between his fingers and studied it a little more closely. It looked interesting and sort of.. Cool. Anemone must have given it to Fenrir earlier, when he had stormed off.
The Hanyou didn’t miss the drop in Anemone’s normally perky voice when she murmured a reply to his question about her friends. He glanced up to see Anemone walking onto the surface of the water. Immediately Fenrir bolted from Raidens side and into the Sea water. The dog splashed around the tall girl, his tail wagging
Raiden rose to a stand, his interest peaked some. He remembered that he had seen Anemone manipulating the water into a seat for herself the last time they had been here. But he hadn’t really been paying attention then.
‘She sounds lonely.’ He noted as she explained that she wasn’t all that great at relating with other people. Which was a bit of a surprise. Anemone was bright and perky. Raiden figured someone like her would have a good circle of friends.
He could understand where she was coming from though. Socialising just wasn’t as easy for some people as it was for others.
Maybe they weren’t so different from each other.
“Fenrir.” Raiden called and whistled. He pulled a black leash from his back pocket and attached it to Fenrir’s chunky collar after the dog had trotted over.
Turning on the spot Raiden had walked a few steps ahead before stopping in his tracks to look back at Anemone.
“Are you coming?”

Anemone felt an odd sense of relief come over her when she heard the tone of Raiden's voice as he scoffed at her inquisition about Ella. The feeling was not one she had expected, but she didn't focus on it. Instead she was more occupied with a shoul of shrimps who were coming to investigate her.
"Like a mother?" Anemone tilted her head to one side, "what's that like?" She turned her attention away from the shrimps for a minute to further explain, feeling that her question might sound odd. "I've never had one." She explaination was simple, and the shrimp required more interest.
Sometimes Anemone longed to be like the fish and creatures she met under water. Just stay there, away from everything else. She didn't often feel that way, but to her it just seemed like everything would be easier. No father to have to try to please, only to fail every time. No stupid destiny to be forced to pretend to look forward to. No awkwardness. Everything would be much simpler.
Fenrir did not allow her to focus on these thoughts for long. The shrimp dispursed before Fenrir even entered the water. And when he bounded up to her, Anemone lost concentration and fell behind first into the surf. She laughed quietly, rubbing Fenrir's furry cheeks and making faces. Anemone had never had much interaction with dogs. But she decided she quite liked this one.
Growling playfully, she ruffled Fenrir's fur behind his ears until Raiden called him over again. Naturally he obeyed, and Anemone watched as he attached a leash. He started walking, and Anemone felt her chest grow heavy. Until he looked back and asked if she was coming. She smiled and nodded once, getting up and following until she was walking at his side. Fossu would be fine for the time being. He was probably having a whale of time scaring the crap out of seals.
She walked along in silence for a few minutes, mimicking her usual stance with her hands tucked behind her back, playing with the ends of her hair. The quiet only lasted for the moment as to her it felt heavy and awkward and she felt like she had to break it. "So... this is probably a really personal question, and you don't have to answer it but uhm... what... are you? Exactly?" She didn't look up from the sand or the foot prints being made by Fenrir. "I'm just curious. I've never met someone with canine ears before. Like I said, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. ... Just curious I guess." She smiled at Raiden briefly, before diverting her eyes down again.

‘Having a mother is.. Nice.’
At least that’s what Raiden had wanted to say. He hadn’t though. Instead he pretended he hadn’t heard the question.
The pair were now walking along the length of the beach in silence. It wasn’t their usual relaxed silence. The atmosphere still felt tense, though not as tense or heavy as it had been when they had argued.
He felt almost grateful when Anemone started speaking. Though her constant questions normally bugged him,( mostly because he felt like he was being inspected and he hated that feeling.) He didn’t mind so much at the moment, it distracted his wandering mind.
“I‘m Meta-human.” He replied simply, unwilling to say anything more. He lied but he had good reason too. People always tend to look at him in a dark light whenever he mentions that he‘s part Demon.
He glanced at Anemone then, his maroon eyes briefly looking over the blue patterns that adorn her skin. Raiden somehow knew that Anemone wasn’t meta-human. He wasn’t sure what it was about the student that told him this.. but she just seemed sort of different.. Special.
“You?” He questioned and turned his gaze straight on.

((Sorry for the lameness. x[ ))

A Meta-human. That was all he was going to say. Anemone didn't mind so much that he wasn't more specific. It was more than likely Raiden had a fairly good reason for it and she wasn't about to push any further for a more detailed answer. Not while things were so uneasy.
She wasn't entirely sure why the atmosphere was now so hard to bare. They'd had an arguement, but that had been settled, so things should have gone straight back to normal, right? Apparently not. Anemone wondered if she had to apologise more for being a pain before she could actually relax, but stopped herself.
She could feel him looking at her, but didn't dare glance back. She really wished she could get a grip on herself and relax again. Something was bothering her, but she wasn't sure what. The only time she looked up from the sand was when he asked about her.
"Meta-human derivitive." Anemone answered, "I'm a native Kosakian. I come from a race of people called Deitives. Most of them are human but a select few are... Deity Carriers." Anemone inhaled quite deeply. It was always a bit tricky to explain what she was without sounding like she was all powerful. She wasn't. She had a limited amount of powers, and if she summoned Fossu too much she could faint or die. "I'm a Deity Carrier. Of water, obviously. The spirit of the water God, Fossu occupies my body... which is why I have the blue markings and can manipulate water and breathe it. He's not in there right now... I let him out of go hunting."
Anemone paused, slowing her walking to a stand still. "I could introduce you, if you want." She offered, tilting her head to one side. She hoped if she did show him Fossu, the atmosphere my ease somewhat.
Besides, she had to summon him back anyway.

Of course Raiden had an idea that Anemone was a little more special than most average meta-humans. But he hadn’t expected her to tell him what she had. He hadn’t imagined that she’d be a carrier of a water God. The news definitely surprised him.
Raiden eyed Anemone over again, finding it hard to believe that someone so lithe housed a God. He wondered how exactly the God is able to live inside of Anemone. He wondered why there were people that had Gods occupying their bodies.
‘Maybe some kind of religious thing.’
“Who knew a brat like you had something like a Water God inside of her.” Raiden quipped, somewhat playful and smirked.
The 23 year old slowed to a stop along with Anemone and sent a quick glance towards the sky when she mentioned that she could introduce him to Fossu.
“I have a lot of papers to mark.” He lied. The truth is that meeting a ’God’ intimidated the Hanyou a little. He could barely socialise with actual people, never mind God’s. What if this Water God can smell the demon in him. What if it tells Anemone. What if..
Raiden frowned at the irrational thoughts that plagued his mind. He hasn’t ever cared what people think of him. At least to a point. So why should he care about what Anemone thinks of him.
Grunting, because he felt his mind might be turning into complete mush, Raiden rubbed irritably at an ear. “I’ll see you around.” He grumbled before making his way off of the beach.

Anemone was amused by Raiden's attempt at being playful. It wasn't something she'd expected, and it did genuinely make her chuckle. He had a point though, without realising it, women rarely housed Deities. It was usually men. It'd been a huge disappointment to her father and to the village when she'd hatched.
He mentioned having papers to mark, and Anemone wilted a little. She didn't know whether that was the truth or not, so didn't think to question it. Instead she simply attempted to hide her disappointment and smiled a little. "Fair enough. I just thought it'd be a nice idea."
She was already up to her hips in the water when Raiden decided now was a good time to disappear. Disheartened, Anemone distracted herself with a high pitched whistle. How she always called Fossu. It was a few long moments before she saw any sign of him.
He usually stayed fairly close by, even if she was on land and he in water - in case trouble started brewing. His dorsal fin appeared first, peeking through the water's surface and as he reached the shallower water, the top of his back and head broke the surface too, displaying an impressive array of scars and birght orange and blue markings. They were glowing.
"You've been fighting." Anemone stated, laying her hands on Fossu's rubbery head. "Why?"
Fossu didn't answer, simply grunted a little and nudged her with his snout. Anemone faultered before regaining her composure. "Okay, okay. Geez."
Leaving one hand on Fossu and the other over the three spots over her heart Anemone's eyes shut and she inhaled deeply forcing herself to concentrate. Her markings started to glow brightly, while Fossu's own marking's increased their intensity. He began to dematerialise from the tail up, his massive bulk becoming a collection of glittering light which ran up Anemone's arm and into her body bit by bit.
Fossu disappeared fairly quickly. Each orb disappearing and running into a seperate part of Anemone's body. When she open her eyes she felt the familiar feeling of nausea, and her legs quaking uneasily beneath her. She managed to take a few steps back before toppling over. She was able to roll onto her front, forcing herself onto her hands and knees as she dry heaved.
((Ehhh... random. X__X *Silver is still very tired*. Stupid work!))
