“Hands off the bike, Princess.”
Raiden growled quietly, unsure of how much abuse he could take from these stupid little children. Really, he leaves his bike alone for two minutes and there’s some kid using it as her own personal jungle gym.
“I was just-” the young girl stopped short and squeaked, startled, when Raiden grabbed a handful of her shirt by the scruff of her neck and lifted her from the motorbike with ease.
“Leaving.” Raiden finished and dropped the girl onto her feet. The girl stumbled a little, but he hadn’t dropped her far enough from the ground that she’d hurt herself. Just far enough that she’d think twice about hopping onto his bike without permission again.
“That was mean!”
“…” Raiden didn‘t bother to grace her with a reply, Instead he levelled her with a blank stare. His expression, or rather lack of caused the young girl to frown. Sticking out her tongue at him, she spun on her heel and darted off in the other direction.
Sighing, Raiden turned his attention back to his motorbike. He was working on tuning up his 2020 Hayabusa. The back wheel had been damaged during a job and needed replacing. 'Too rough.' He thought idly, recalling the incident in which his bike had been damaged.
The body work had been damaged too. The right side of the bike had been dented and had ugly scrapes down it’s side. He was going to need a professional to look at the paint work, but the dents he could bump out himself.
Rubbing irritably behind one of his ears, they were beginning to itch in the heat, he dropped his tools besides his bike and picked up his bottle of water from the ground, taking three large mouthfuls once he had unscrewed the top.
He was currently working outside in the sunshine not too far from the courtyard. Which unfortunately meant that kids were constantly coming over to annoy him.
So far he has had a group of extremely annoying, giggling 13 year old girls questioning him about all sorts of things. Questions about his ’Silky’ hair, (Flinch) his eyes, about His ears and if they could touch them. (Not a chance in hell) and whether or not he had a girlfriend because ‘Emily really, really, really likes you. So will you date her, please~? She doesn‘t care that you‘re old!’ (An annoyed twitch here).
Then there had been the brat who had climbed all over his motorbike, the kid who thought it would be fun to steal his helmet (that one hadn't ended well. He'd had to bribe the kid in the end to keep his mouth shut. The last thing he needed was the Headmistress, or even worse - Sharpe, breathing down his neck for 'bullying' kids.) and the group of 8 year old boys who continuously pestered him for a ride on the back of his bike. (Ha!)
On the upside the younger children had classes and so they had only annoyed him on their lunch break.
Besides he had given off enough Ice cold vibes and ‘death-if-you-so-much-as-think-about-looking-in-this-general-direction’ glares to ward off any nosy children for a while.

Why can't we be in the open...?[/b]
"You know why." Anemone breathe, lifting her fingers from the water of the fountain. "We'll go tonight... I have to see Fyran anyway." The shark's spirit settled somewhat to her half-hearted and placating words. Relieved that the matter was no longer going to be pressed, Anemone lay her hand back on top of the water, enjoying the liquid under her skin.
The day was quiet and classes seemed to be slow today. Anemone, herself, had finished her exercises and classes and was now taking the time, that should have been used for study, for her own means. Naturally this meant being as close to a natural water source as possible within the school grounds. Later, as she had grown accustomed to doing, she'd leave when the gates were closed and disappeared under the current with Fossu. She'd return to her village and seek out her brother. See him briefly and then return before anyone was the wiser to her disappearance.
Of course, that was easy to do when no one really paid any attention to you. Something Anemone was rather grateful for. She had done enough to be considered unnoticeable by her classmates and peers. And this suited her absolutely fine. It meant she could go about her own business, without having the explain things to anyone. Not that she had any doubt any friends she made would object to her comings-and-goings, she just had a small fear that any friends would want to come along... and she could not be responsible for them if they were not as stronger swimmers as she was.
As she lookd up from the water's surface she noticed a small gaggle of students disappearing into the main building, muttering to themselves, throwing dirty looks back to where they had come from. Intrigued, Anemone rose from the fountains edge and crossed the courtyard. What she found was not what she had imagined.
She thought they may had left a poor kid in a snivelling heap after bully them to the ground. No... this was someone who wasn't a kid at all. Anemone believed he was a teacher, but couldn't remember. If he wasn't she hadn't taken any classes with him. She was rather fascinated by what he was doing... and also by a set of canine ears sticking out from the top of his head.
She glanced from side-to-side, twitching her fingers. The urge to rub them was over-whelming. But no doubt he'd probably whip around she strangle her... he didn't look like the most happy of men in the world. So Anemone schooled herself and her wants, holding her hands behind her back and squatting beside him.
"Aren't you hot?"
((Haha, its fine! I like Raiden already! :B And whatever, you're an awesome writer!))

Raiden had been aware of another presence approaching from behind but made no effort to go about acknowledging them. He figured it was just another child. He had already been irritated beyond the point of simply being annoyed and so he wasn’t about to satisfy their need to piss him off by paying them any sort of attention. Fiddling with a screw on his bike, Raiden continued on with his work. Acting completely oblivious to the body intruding his space. Though he had to admit, he found his curiosity peaked when he caught the ‘intruders’ scent. He had diagnosed that it was a female sat crouched behind him and that she had a strong, almost over-whelming (For someone with such a keen sense of smell) scent of Ocean water, though it didn’t offend his sensitive nose, it was as if she were made of Sea water herself. Raiden Initially ignored the female’s question, hoping that she’d take his silence as a sign that he didn’t want to be disturbed. She didn’t however and that annoying little urge to turn around and see exactly who it was who smelled like fresh ocean water, refused to disappear. “No.” He answered finally, his left ear twitching in disagreement. He was a little hot, but what did that matter? Why did she care? Who approaches and talks to random strangers anyway? It was then he had to remind himself that he is in a school and that he is a professor and because of this, he is going to be approached. Whether it be by students or by professors. He had been here a month now and it was still taking some getting used to. Ella had lectured him constantly about ’being kind’ and ’nice’ to the children and maybe he would try to be nice if the children weren’t out to get under his skin. He wasn’t sure what it was about him, but children flocked to him like moths to a flame. It was bizarre, over-whelming and downright annoying. Raiden could barely handle a conversation with people his own age and over, never mind children. He wasn’t the most sensitive and understanding of men. Sighing, once he realised that the girl wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, he stood, wiping off his hands on a yellow rag and turned around so that they were face to face. “Can I help you?” ____________________________________________________ ((Okay, cool. I worry alot sometimes. ^^ )

Anemone smiled rather benignly. He obviously didn't like being interrupted or addressed at all. and her presence seemed most unwelcome. Not that Anemone was about to leave just because he didn't want her there. She was interested in what he was doing, and wanted to have a closer look. If he was a professor then he should have known this would be a common occourance. And at least she wasn't asking to ride the bike.
Not that she'd have had a clue where to start, but still!
She noticed his ear twitch, and the want to rub the offending appendage returned. She fiddled with her fingers behind her back and then dropped them to her sides as he stood up. He was wiping his brow of sweat and she half smiled. "So you are hot." She said, her tone rather playful.
"And who said you could help me. I was just coming over to have a look at what you were doing." She grinned, "I saw some kids disappearing from this direction throwing dirty looks back and came to investigate. I originally thought there'd be a snivelling 6th grader back here all beaten and bloodied... so you're not quite what I had in mind." She shrugged and left her hands resting on her hips.
Pursing her lips for a moment she shuffled off, looking at the body work of the bike. She didn't really know much about machines. That was Forchet's area of expertise. But she knew a little from the things he had told her with the parts she'd collected for him from the ocean floor. "What did you do to this thing?" she squatted again, eyeing the back wheel, "did you run into a fire hydrant or something? That's a rather impressive dent." She ran her hand down the side on the bike, gingerly fingering the scrapes.
"You're a professor, right?" She stood up again, facing him, "can't say I've seen you before, and I've been here a while. So... like who are you?" she asked, with a small smile. Better to be blunt than to beat around.
((Thats okay! we all worry sometimes. ^^ I'm trying to make Anemone a little more mature and rounded... so... like... yeah, hope she's okay. :3))

Raiden faltered ever-so slightly when he was caught out on his lie about not being hot, but was quick to recover with an annoyed glare. The girl seemed unfazed by it though and carried on chatting, as if she were talking to a friend.
Her up-beat attitude caused him to scowl, his eyebrow twitching at her comment. So she didn’t need help, she was just being nosy. An irritated sigh passed his lips. He had hoped that his question would have frightened her away. Not that the question itself was at all frightening, but his tone had been sharp and his gaze had been cold and she was supposed to take the hint and leave.
The girl seemed oblivious to his attitude though and if she had taken note of it, she didn’t seem to care. There wasn’t much he could do, he had never been all that great at socialising, especially with females. So instead of wasting energy on glaring at a girl who wasn’t taking any notice, he went about doing what he did best in these sort of situations.
He ignored her very presence and continued on with his earlier activities.
He determined that he wasn’t going to let this girl get to him. But she did. Her scent was somewhat distracting and she chatted away asking question after question. ‘Annoying.’ he closed his eyes for a moment and drew a long breath.
‘You are a professor. You can’t be mean to the students, do you hear me? Be. Nice!’ Ella’s voice echoed like thunder in his mind. She had lectured him before he had come to Kosaka. But being nice was easier said than done. Raiden didn’t think he was too bad of a guy, that was to say.. He didn’t think he was ‘mean’ as Ella sometimes liked to call him. He tried to be nice. Well.. His version of nice. But he found it hard being ‘nice’ to evil children.
Ella would probably laugh if she knew how much the children were getting under his skin. After all annoying Raiden could at times be very difficult. Not for a child though. He didn’t know why exactly children annoyed him. They just did. Ella would say that it’s because he has a ‘soft spot’ for children. Raiden often scoffed at this. The only ‘soft spot’ he had were for his motorbikes and of course.. His sister and maybe Ella on the days she wasn’t being a pain in his ass.
Another sigh and he opened his eyes to see the girl observing his motorbike with curious interest. “Don’t touch, kid.” he warned lightly, in place of answering her questions about how is bike had gotten damaged. That was something she couldn’t and didn’t need to know.
And then she had asked him another question.
Sometimes he hated being a professor. In fact he hated it all the time. He often found himself contemplating pulling out of this ‘Job’ and giving it to Ella. After all it had been her job originally. He was sure that she’d be much more capable at handling children. Being a professor didn’t suit him well at all.
“Yes.” He replied as he crouched down and began to dig around in his tool box, looking for the correct tools so that he could strip the bodywork from the bike.
‘Be nice!’ Raiden was positive that Ella was inside of his head. Her voice often invaded his thoughts whenever he found himself becoming aggravated by the students or when he found himself about to bite out a cold insult or comment at a kid. Ella did possess the power to hypnotise. She could very well have messed with his head a little at their last session.
Grumbling, the Hanyou made a mental note to question his partner about playing with his mind and then maybe kill her after. He worked best alone anyway.
“Raiden.” he answered in reply to her final question and then in a attempt to be ’nice’ ordered her to pass him his water, without so much as a please or note of politeness.

"I don't think you're welcome."[/b] Fossu spoke quietly in Anemone's head. His tone as it always was, blank, and lacking any emotion.
Perhaps... but I don't see why I can't have a look. I'm not exactly doing anything. Anemone replied fondly, sweeping her hand back through her hair. He really didn't seem to like her being around. Even though she wasn't doing anything. She's stopped eyeing and touching the bike, marginally concerned that she cut herself on the dented metal. Maybe he was just antisocial. But then... why be a professor if you didn't like being social. It kind of went with the job description, didn't it? A Professor taught. Taught people. Often younger people. So if he had a problem with people, or students then what on earth was he doing here?
Of course, this was all Anemone's own speculation. She had no idea if this was true or not, it was just the general vibe she was getting from him. Not that Anemone was an expert in reading people. It was just he seemed to be trying to ignore her... and failing rather spectacularly.
"If you're going to ignore someone, the bast thing to do is really not to address them. No matter how much they annoy you." Anemone said, smiling quaintly looking directly at the canine earred man. What he was... Anemone didn't know. She'd never seen someone with actual canine ears before, and was rather intrigued. Since coming to Kosaka she'd seen plenty of things she never thought she'd see before, but nothing else had really spark her interest like this did.
"I'm not a kid, by-the-way. And I resent being addressed as one, just because I'm a student does not mean I'm inferior." Anemone stated. She glanced at the water bottle he was indicating to and arched an eyebrow. "And my name is Anemone." She reached for the bottle and held it out for him to take or grab, whichever he preferred, not before she took a moment to play, twisting her fingers to cause a little of the water to arise out of the bottle, she made it form a perfect ball on top of the neck of the bottle, wavering her fingers to keep it balanced.
"You're welcome." She said with a half-smile, pre-empting the thank you that she doubted would be uttered.
((I like Raiden. Raiden is cooooool~~))

After finding the necessary tools needed, Raiden stood up right and looked to the girl who had introduced herself as Anemone. Apparently she didn’t like to be addressed as a child. He didn’t particularly care though, he highly doubted he’d be having another ’meeting’ with the rather tall girl and so didn’t make any special mental notes.
There had been a brief flicker of interest in his maroon eyes as he watched Anemone manipulate the water in the bottle. But he had hidden it quickly, the way he always hid his emotions and reactions the moment they dared make themselves known.
Hiding his true feelings had become something of an automatic reflex for the 23 year old. The same way a knee-jerk reaction works. It’s understandable, considering his past. He had spent so many years hidden behind a mask of apathy that whenever he did try to express how he truly felt, he became highly uncomfortable and out of sorts with himself.
There had been a time where he hadn’t been so closed off and distant. A time where he would openly laugh until his insides hurt. A time where he would allow tears to fall. A time he would smile brightly. But those times were a distant echo of the boy he once was.
He sometimes found himself wondering if he’d ever regain anything of the boy he used to be. It seemed highly unlikely, time had changed him. Life had changed him. However he wasn’t a complete loss. If it hadn’t been for Ella, he was positive that he would have turned out to be just as heartless and empty as people perceive him.
Still, expressing himself had become a difficult and uncomfortable task. One he preferred not to have the trouble of dealing with. So instead Raiden found it much more easy to rely on his mask of apathy. But no matter how closed off and distant he acts, his emotions always find a way to leak through the small cracks of his mask.
Sometimes he let them. Only Ella was fortunate enough to see them, however.
Annoyed, this time by his own train of thought, Raiden grabbed the offered water from Anemone’s hand and drank until it’s contents were completely gone.
“..Thank you.” Was his reluctant reply and the last words he spoke to the tall girl for a while.
Taking off the bodywork was easy. He placed it down carefully and surveyed the bike. Luckily, nothing had been damaged beneath. He wouldn’t have to spend too much money on his bike after all.
A few moments of silence passed, in which Raiden went about bumping and re-shaping the motorbikes shell. He could still feel Anemone’s presence but she hadn’t said much since she had explained, much to his irritation, how to ignore someone. He had simply offered her an offended glare in response. As if he needed to know how to ignore people, it was what he did best. He couldn’t help that Anemone annoyed him beyond a point where he simply couldn’t ignore her.
So maybe he was going a little OTT. Anemone wasn’t as bad as he was making her out to be. He had come to find that he didn’t mind her being stood around whilst he worked on his bike. But maybe that was because she wasn’t saying anything to annoy him.
He was being unfair, as usual. He never did give anyone a chance to be anything more than an annoyance to him. He didn’t see much of a point.
'Hn..' Why was he thinking so much? Maybe because of the heat..?
Sighing silently, he scratched at his cheek and in the process smeared a black dirt mark across it. It did seem that the weather had become much warmer because his ears had begun to twitch uncomfortably, eventually coming to rest against silver locks.

Anemone did her best to hide her surprised look at the slightly forced murmur of gratitude she received from the silver haired man. She failed, rather well in fact, her half-smile becoming a little fuller at the noise, but her expression returned to a more contented expression as he fell silent and went to work on his bike and so did she.
She was quite happy to observe quietly and sit on the ground while doing so. She wasn't getting in the way and he seemed to have taken her words about ignoring someone to heart. As he didn't seem to even be looking at her now. Anemone didn't mind. It was sheer interest that had brought her over here, and it was pure curiousity that kept her here.
...Well. Nearly.
There may have been a little but of her that liked her vantage point. After all, it wasn't often she was allowed to observe a masculine form so close, and not feel weird about it because the male was a sibling - in a loose sense of the word. However, she was willing to shove those guilty thoughts to the back of her mind and convince herself it was observsation of a purely interested state. Nothing to do with a man covered in sweat.
Its warm....[/b] Fossu said quietly. She'd been silent so long his voice shocked her and she jumped, squeaking a little in surprise. She toppled onto her back and giggled as she sat back up straight.
I know. But we'll go swimming later. Anemone replied, as she made herself stop laughing. She grinned sheepishly at Raiden, sure she had annoyed him further with her rather sudden outburst of unnecessary (to him at least) laughter. As she did she noticed a fairly large smear of black across his cheek and smirked, arching an eyebrow.
"The Rambo look suits you." She pointed to her own cheek and then at his. "You just need a matching one on the other side, a red head band and some cameo pants and you'd be all set. Not sure if you'd be able to find a bazooka though."
She fell silent again, still smiling and her gaze averted, noticing his ears were flattened. She was intrigued by those. And she wanted, more than anything right now, to touch them just to see what would happen. But Raiden's general demenor towards her didn't really give her any confidence that she'd be allowed. More than likely she'd feel the ground removed from under her feet and have a close encounter with a wall... but she was still intrigued by them.
"Do they move independantly?" Anemone suddenly blurted out pointing to his ears. "I mean... they're amazing! Are they soft?"
((You're not a dork! And I really like him! Yay for moody bastards!))

Raiden had whipped around into a low crouch immediately, as if ready to pounce. Whilst his ears had raised up and were pointed in Anemone’s direction.
“…“ His expression deadpanned the moment his maroon eyes landed on Anemone’s shaking form sprawled out over the floor. She was laughing.
He relaxed instantly and scowled openly at the brunette. It appeared that she had fallen onto her back and for some bizarre reason, found it funny. Raiden however didn’t.
Unimpressed, he rubbed at the bridge of his nose. Not only was this girl annoying but ditzy and weird too.
Or maybe he was the weird one for assuming that a threat had appeared. He didn’t know what had been going through his mind. He clearly hadn’t been thinking. Raiden was on high alert at the best of times, he needed to be as he had been on many Jobs where he found his life in danger. But he didn’t need to be on alert at Kosaka. At least for the moment he didn’t. So why he had sprung around, ready to rip whoever’s head needed ripping off for attempting to attack a student who wasn’t actually being attacked, was beyond him.
It must have been the heat. Now that he thought about it, he didn’t feel too good. ’Shouldn’t have skipped breakfast.’ he thought idly and as if on cue, his stomach growled unhappily. ‘Lunch too..’
Glancing out of the corner of his eye, Raiden arched an eyebrow when he noticed that Anemone was still giggling. He was positive that she had hit her head when she fell backward because she switched from her girlish giggles to rambling on about something called Rambo, in a heartbeat.
He regarded Anemone with a blank and impassive stare, clueless as to what she was talking about. He hadn’t the faintest idea of what a Rambo was. Or rather who Rambo was. But he did realise after she had indicated to his face that he had dirt on his cheek. And that it somehow had triggered her talk of this guy by the name of Rambo.
‘Definitely strange.’
Sitting cross-legged so that he could play around with pieces of metal that he had taken from the bike that needed replacing, he returned to his work. He didn’t bother to wipe the dirt from his face. He’d shower later anyway.
-
Raiden didn’t have to look at the finger pointed at his head to know that Anemone was talking about his ears. In fact he was mildly surprised she had held her curiosity in for so long. Most other females tended to question him about his ’cute’ (cringe)ears the very moment they approach him. But by the way she had suddenly blurted out her question it was obvious that she had been wanting to for sometime.
He could not for the life of him understand why people find his ears so fascinating. So they were a little unusual in the way that they were, Y’know, canine. But really they weren’t that interesting. At least he didn’t think so. If anything they were a pain in the ass that attracted a lot of unwanted attention. Not only that but they are very sensitive. So sensitive in fact, that when his left ear had been clipped by a stray bullet he hadn’t had time to dodge completely, he had crumbled to the floor in pure agony. It took his entire sheer will (and many cusses) not to scream out or even cry.
Not that he’d ever admit that. He didn’t want people knowing one of his major weaknesses.
“Sometimes.” He replied. At times it seemed as if his ears had a mind of their own and could be a dead giveaway to how he is feeling. They are the hardest to control when attempting to hide his emotions and because of this are even more of a pain. Though luckily people were often non the wiser to the movements of his ears, so he didn’t worry about trying to keep them up-right in the same position all of the time. Besides it sort of hurt if he did that for too long.
Right now it was impossible to determine exactly how he was feeling by the rather impassive expression on his face. But by the way his ears were relaxed down and pressed back slightly against his head it was evident to very few that he felt rather content with the way things were at the moment.
The question about whether or not his ears were soft threw him a little. What sort of question was that anyway? He being male didn’t like to think that his ears are soft. It sounded sort of girly.. And.. Well girly.
“No.” He answered bluntly as if offended by the very thought of them being soft. He didn’t know if they were, it all depended on what a person considered ‘soft.’ He never really thought about the texture of his ears. He re-called that Ella had once described them as 'silky and warm and cute~!' and so he had promtly banned her from ever touching his ears again.

Her laughing was without a doubt something he had not been impressed by. But that was fine. Anemone had just been laughing at herself, and her surprise of Fossu's sudden words. Though she now felt a rather sharp pain in her head. Fossu had become aggressive when he'd noticed Raiden's sudden movements which themselves, seemed forward and with abrasive purpose. His sudden change in attitude had caused the sharp pain and now that was like a pin-prick, constantly in Anemone's head.
As she rubbed her temple gently, trying to ease the pain away she shuffled a little closer to what he was doing to get a better look. As she moved, she over heard an impressive stomach rumble from the man. The temptation to tease was there, but she ignored it, more concerned by the pain in her head, and the fact Raiden would probably just ignore the comment.
There didn't seem to be any getting conversation out of this guy. Which was fair enough if he wasn't a great conversationalist, but Anemone hadn't exactly done anything wrong. She'd come over out of curiousity, and remained because of that fact. He was a teacher, and his attitude wasn't exactly the most wonderful in the world for his station.
But there was probably a reason for it. And likewise, probably a reason for the fact he didn't talk much. Anemone wasn't going to press it, some people just didn't react no matter how much theyr were pressed. and some did, and in violent ways. Anemone wasn't willing to find out how he'd react if she pressed further.
Still - talking about his ears seemed to get a reaction. A little monosyllabic, but a reaction anyway.
"They must be pretty sensitive. I mean... ears are on most animals. Do you have better hearing than an average human because of them?" Anemone asked, dropping one hand into her lap, and tilting her head to one side.
This proved a bad idea as the sharp pain became a piercing pain and caused Anemone to wince. Fossu was still on alert, which was why she was feeling this. She could feel him trying to relax, but it was difficult when you were a Deity and the main thing you were used for was attacking and killing.
She half smiled at his response to his ears not being soft. She hadn't expected anything less. She doubted anyone who had ears like that would appriciate them being soft. Add in Raiden's personality, and she definately doubted he wouldn't appriciate it. "I'd ask to touch them, but you'd probably kill me." Anemone stated, rubbing her forehead again.
Anemone fell silent again, leaning forward to observe. She was still curious as to how the bike got into such a state, but it looked to be coming back together, so it wasn't a huge concern of Raiden's, but the look of things. She then realised she hadn't actually asked what he was the teacher of. He didn't seem to like being questioned... but it was a specifically innocent, and typical question so... what was the harm. "What do you teach... by-the-way? If you don't mind my asking."

Raiden hummed an acknowledgement to Anemone‘s question, that yes he did have better hearing because of his canine ears. He didn’t want to admit that his ears were sensitive though, so he chose to ignore that little question.
He couldn’t help the small smirk that tugged at the corner of his lips when she mentioned that he might kill her for touching his ears. Close enough. He never had hurt anyone with the intention of touching his ears. Okay, that was a lie. He had hurt someone, but it he hadn’t meant to. It had been their own stupid fault for trying to grab at them.
He didn’t like people to touch his ears. He turned to complete mush whenever someone did. He hated it. Of course it all depended on how a person went about touching his ears.
Petting wasn’t too bad, he enjoyed it more than he liked to admit. Still he’d rather people didn’t pet his ears like he was some sort of dog. Rubbing, caressing and massaging them however was a definite no-no. What other people think is harmless rubbing is actually bordering on something intimate for the young Hanyou. He couldn’t have strangers getting that sort of reaction out of him.
It was better that no one touched his ears at all, no matter how much he liked it. Besides he didn’t want everyone’s grubby fingers tugging at his poor sensitive ears.
-
Anemone had fallen silent again and even though she had shuffled closer in order to have a nosy at what exactly it was he was doing, he found that he hadn’t minded as much as he should have. Which of course made him wonder again what was up with him today, besides an empty stomach and bordering on having a heat stroke.
Maybe it was her scent. It was awfully relaxing. It reminded him of being at the beach, staring out across an ocean. And that was the problem.
He wasn’t entirely sure he liked that he felt himself becoming a little more at ease and a little less annoyed by a student. It made him feel uncomfortable because he never allowed himself to feel at ease around anyone. Anyone other than Ella and his sister that is.
Another few moments of silence and Anemone was asking another question. A sigh passed his lips. Couldn’t she just stay silent? He was sort of glad though. The more she annoyed him the less likely he was left to think about her scent or about the way she was sitting way too close for his liking.
“I teach Auto-shop.” He explained absently, frowning lightly when a screw dropped off that shouldn‘t have. “And a few one-on-one language sessions.” and before she could question him about which languages he taught, he went on, “French, Japanese and some English.”
'Finished.' Raiden climbed to his feet so that he could replace the half repaired bodywork. It didn’t look too bad. The paint work had gone to hell, much to his chagrin. But at least the dent had been smoothed out.
He lifted his arm to check the time and then idly scratched behind one of his ears. There wasn’t much work left to do on his bike. All he needed to do really was check the engine and make sure it was running okay.
"Don't you have somewhere else to be?" It had been the second question he had addressed to Anemone throughout their whole conversation. Well.. their one-sided conversation. Anemone had been doing all the talking.
He wasn't feeling too great and her presence was beginning to irk him again.

"You can speak French?" Anemone said, though it was a question, it had already been confirmed that he could, otherwise he wouldn't be teaching it. "That's wonderful! You must be quite the linguist." She was a little too enthusiastic about this, and momentarily forgot about the pain in her head. She was always impressed by anyone who could speak more than one language. She herself couldn't. She had no talent for languages, despite trying, and always resented this fact as three out of her five sisters were multilingual, and loved to show off.
They often spoke to each other in a foreign language whenever Anemone was around, to talk about her. They were older, so it was to be expected. But they never made it subtle that they were talking about. Amazingly enough, there weren't many translations for the word 'anemone'. But as far as Anemone was concerned they could hang. Her younger sister, Ateena and Adella were much nicer to spend time with, and Anemone liked spending time with them. She'd been the one to teach them to swim, and whenever she went back to her village, they always swam out to meet her.
Which caused Anemone to remember the time and that she'd need to start moving soon, if she wanted to see Fyran.
She chewed her lower lip for a moment, and followed Raiden as he stood up. She stood straight and stretched a little, rubbing her right shoulder where it had oddly stiffened. She was relieved to feel the pain in her head beginning to wane, Fossu was starting to relax again, and it was a welcome relief.
Glancing across at Raiden who was checking his watch, Anemone took the oppertunity and grabbed his arm, pulling the watch towards her. It wasn't getting late, but she had to time her set off with the tide. She was a strong swimmer, but the swim to her village was always about half an hour shorter when the tide was with her.
"Hmm..." she dropped his arm and pursed her lips. "Tide won't be going out for another hour..." She was muttering to her self, and then looked back at Raiden as he made his own enquiry. "Wow, you really, really hate people, don't you." It was a statement, not a question. She folded her arms, leaning casually on one hip. "And no, I don't have anywhere to be. Not yet at least. I'm heading down to the beach in a while though, so I won't pester you for much longer." She smirked and arched an eyebrow, "Gods forbid someone gets in the way of your brooding."
Mind yourself... this is not Gyan you are talking to. He could fly off the handle.[/b] Fossu's warning was laced with intent. Anemone was well aware that Raiden was not her brother. But the broodiness was extremely similar to how Gyan behaved most of the time. But she was also aware that she had a bit of the upper hand here. She was a student, and teacher's weren't allowed to lash out at students.

Raiden had obviously hit a nerve with Anemone. He didn’t really care though. She was the one who had wanted to stick around, even after it appeared he wasn’t the most social of men. He hadn’t asked her to stay. In fact he thought he had made it clear that he wanted to be alone. He tried to pretend that Anemones sarcastic comment hadn’t struck a nerve, but it had. He could feel his irritation peak into anger as he went about clearing away his things. After clearing his things to the side he moved to sit on his bike, his mind now racing with what he didn’t want to recognise as guilty thoughts. So he hadn’t been all that polite with Anemone. He had been tolerant at least. If she had wanted a conversation then he was the last person she should have come to. Wasn’t it obvious that he hadn’t wanted her around? Wasn’t it obvious that he didn’t socialise well? What did she expect? A friendly chat? Besides if she were so annoyed by his attitude why the hell was she still standing there. “What do you want!?” He snapped finally, his maroon eyes narrowed into a sharp glare. _ (( Omygosh. Sorry for the lame post. ;- )

And then he snapped. After clearing away his belongings and taking a seat on his newly fixed (if that's what you could call it) bike, her presence became so unbareable he snapped at her. She felt a little bad for getting to him so much, she hadn't meant to become a bother, she had just been curious, and obviously he didn't like curiousity. But she didn't feel that bad. Afterall, this was a free island, and there was no huge sign saying not to bother him. She would have left if he'd asked her to leave. Rather than try and ignore her and think that would be enough to make her leave.
In fact the fact that he was now pretty much blaming her for not leaving when he didn't make it obvious by airing that he wanted her to go was annoying her and she was starting to lose her previous calmness.
"Who said I wanted anything you arrogant, self-absorbed butt head!" Anemone snapped finally, planting her hands firmly on her hips and leaving them there.
"I came over to see what you were doing. Normal people say when they want someone to leave, they don't ignore them and hope! You're obviously capable of speech, so maybe use your voice next time. Unless you think yourself too self-important to talk to someone."
Her hands left her hips and came to fold across her chest. "And you can glare at me all you like - I've had much worse. And I'm not leaving just because you wish I would." She paused and inhaled deeply, the pain in her head was coming back. Fossu was alerted due to Anemone's heightened temper. "What's your problem anyway?" She asked, a little calmer, "why do you not like people?"
((Is okay. Mine's not much better. D: ))

Raiden hadn’t wanted to be rude by telling her to leave so he had thought that if he ignored her then she’d at least take the hint go. Anyone with half a brain would have.
That was what he wanted to say to say to Anemone. But Raiden never had been a man of many words and arguing with a student would be immature and pretty much pointless.
Still, Anemone ranted on about his pointless glaring, causing the Hanyou to scowl. He turned his glare away stubbornly, looking something like a scorned child - with his ears were pressed flat against his head and his expression pulled into a tight frown.
It seemed Anemone had calmed down considerably after her short rant because her voice had been much calmer when she had asked him another question.
“Because-” he had started but found that he couldn’t finish. ’Because I just don’t know how to be around people’ he had wanted to say. ‘It’s always easier to act the cold bastard.’
Of course he wasn’t about to tell her that. He didn’t owe her an explanation. No one needed to know why he acted the way he did, least of all a student.
“-People are annoying.” He finished lamely and started the engine on his bike to distract his attention away from the angry female and his unwanted thoughts.
He wasn’t sure what to do. He didn’t know what to make of Anemone. Her personality threw him and he just didn’t know how to be around her. It was frustrating.
A long drawn out sigh passed his lips as the engine purred and hummed quietly. He knew he should apologise. He’s a professor after all, he isn’t supposed to act like a jackass with the students. He’s supposed to be helpful and polite. Even if they do annoy him to no end.
'How hard is to say sorry?'
Very hard, apparently because Raiden didn’t want to say it.
Being a professor was a pain in the ass, really. It’d be easier if he just quit and save himself a whole load of grief.
A few moments of silence passed before a defeated sigh sounded from the 23 year old and he reluctantly turned his attention back to the tall girl.
“Get on.” He ordered and held a black helmet out towards Anemone. He may not be great at expressing himself with words but there were other ways he could show his apologies.
“I’ll take you to the beach.”
