Name: Aislynn Nadia Celeste
Alias: Aislynn, Celeste, Little Princess
Age: 24
Birthday: June 25
Subject: Math, tutors French
Other Activities: Library Assistant, French Club
Race: Meta-Human
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Probably Straight
Appearance: The first thing you'll notice about me is that I'm short. I've always been the shortest in my class. In fact, I'm not even five feet tall yet and Grandmum says that I'm not likely to grow anymore. That's fine with me. The second thing you'll notice is that I have freckles. Not too many, but they're definately noticable. They're mostly on my cheeks and especially visible because I have really light skin.
I usually wear clothes that are comfortable. For me, that's usually a cute blouse and a skirt or pants and a skirt under a long robe. The robe's a long story. Grandmum and Grandpa always wear them around the house, so I started to, also. I like wearing light colors (blue, red, orange); they make me happy.
You aren't likely to notice much about my hair, other than the fact it's short. Depending on my mood, it's different color, but Grandmum claims that it doesn't follow any pattern. Likely she's right about that.

Personality: I suppose you could say that I'm easy-going, which is true to a certain extent. I enjoy having fun and spending time with my friends and family (mostly Grandmum and Grandpa, really). I'm fairly talkative and I enjoy making friends. Apparently, I talk too much and that might present a problem.
I must confess I've never taught before in a school, but I've tutored math classes. I make my lessons fun. My favorite topic is taking math and finding out fun and interesting ways to apply it or little tricks to do, like probabilities.
In my spare time, I like to read and perform in drama. I'm fairly outgoing and it's not easy to be alone. Solitude was a thing of my youth; I'm determined to put that behind now and make good friends, spend time with them and enjoy life as much as I can.
I'm kind of a girly-girl sometimes. I like dressing up nicely and putting on make-up. On the weekends, putting on plays with my neighbors was always my favorite thing to do. If I didn't enjoy math so much, I think I would've gone into acting. I enjoy imitating different character's voices and I've been told I'm pretty good at it.
I suppose you'll just never know what to expect when I'm around. Grandmum says that the one word that sums me up is unique. I think she's right about that.
Greatest Fear: Losing my family. I love Grandmum and Grandpa and Lissa and Asakura.
Most Important Secret: That I've spent time spying on Mum and Lissa recently.
Character Background: I was born and raised in the beautiful British Columbia. That's in Canada. Melissa's my younger sister; she's twenty-three and until I was seven, life was good. Dad was always away; he worked for the government. Mum and Dad separated just after Lissa was born. Dad was killed when I was five; I hardly remember him. But he chose my middle name; I was named for my Grandmum, Nadia. His name is Demetry Celeste.
When I was seven, Mum found out I could shapeshift a little bit and she hated that. Lissa thought it was cool that my hair changed color like it does, but Mum made me leave. I think Mum was jealous. Sadly, I don't keep in touch with Lissa anymore. I know she's alive and finishing up at school, but that's all from what Grandmum tells me; I haven't talked to my sister since I was seven.
Grandmum and Grandpa (Dad's parents) took me in after that. They're wonderful people. Grandmum schooled me at home until I was eleven. Then, I was accepted to Northpointe. That's a school in Montana (USA) that teaches kids with special talents - meta-humans and others - and I lived there during the school year. I went home for the holidays.
That was a very happy time. Grandmum was always very kind. She would tell me all about Dad when he was little. Dad was also a shapeshifter, but he could shapeshift completely, like Grandmum. It was about this time that Grandpa discovered that I could bring books to life. It's not a big deal, really. Grandmum also told me how Dad was really interested in math. I guess this is what inspired me to go into math. And, I was kind of good at it.
So, I decided to study math in university. I went to university in America, but I think I'm still Canadian. I don't know. I just finished up at University and got my teaching degree. To teach at Kosaka Academy and be able to help young students learn - in more ways than one - would be wonderful. I owe a lot to my teachers at Northpointe and I'd like to do the same to students that they did for me.
Powers: Like a shapeshifter (it's genetic - Grandmum's one), I can sort of change my appearance at will. It seems that the genes have gotten so weak that it's only my hair and eyes and sometimes my skin tone that change and nothing else. Mostly my hair. One day it'll be light brownish - its natural color - and the next day it'll be bright pink. Or orange.
The other thing I can do - it's really cool! - is to take a book and create a 3D picture out of it. Characters from a scene that I read aloud come to life and the scenery's all there! Unfortunately, it's how I imagine things, not how someone else does. I'll have to show you sometime!
Skills: Aside from making my hair change color - it never seems to obey me - and literally bringing book characters to life - for a short time - I'm good at cheering people up, I guess. I'm also fairly good at theater and at math. Since I've had a little training in theater and I like performing, I can also do pretty good imitations of people and enjoy doing various voices. Since she was born and raised in Canada, she is also fluent in French.

Aislynn had been fairly quiet through most of the conversation, instead choosing to let Frick and Charlize dominate what was going on. She wasn't particularly a night person, preferring to stay talkative during the day. By this time, she had finished the last of her hot chocolate and was now licking around the top part of the mug where one of the marshmallows had stuck. Try as she might, however, her efforts to reach and remove the sticky piece of sugar with her tongue were futile.
"Do you dye your hair?" Obviously addressed to her, Charlize's sudden question snapped her out of her attempts with the marshmallow.
Aislynn glanced over at Charlize, her blue-ish eyes glowing ever so slightly in the fluorescent lighting of the cafeteria. Before Aislynn could speak, Frick said something.
“If it is dyed I wouldn’t worry. I’ve seen plenty of kids going around with crazy coloured hair… natural or not.”
Aislynn's glance fell towards Frick's own hair. Between Charlize's blue hair, her changing hair-color and Frick's dual colored hair, Aislynn agreed with that statement. Abnormal was normal and normal was abnormal around Kosaka. Even at Northpointe, she wouldn't have been too surprised to see students with unique appearances.
She shook her head slightly. "It's somewhat natural," she replied, the corners of her lips lifting upwards as she smiled slightly. "I'm kind of a shapeshifter, though my hair turns this brownish color during the night." She set the mug down on the table and fingered a strand of light hair between her thumb and index finger. "What about you guys?"

She waltzed into the room. No matter that it was early; she was in a relatively good mood that day and this class was one of her favorites: general algebra. Unlike her calculus students, the younger kids did not make her nervous as much. Besides, it was halfway through the year and she knew the students rather well.
"Come on, Ali, Callisto, pay attention here." As she reached for her book and a whiteboard marker, she gently chided the Verity twins, both of whom had been talking with their neighbors. Frankly, she expected that from Ali, but not necessarily from Callisto. Aislynn turned her back on the class to begin writing the notes on how to use the FOIL method to solve an equation on the board; the last lesson had covered how to use the FOIL method in general and this assignment would involve the practical applications of it.
As she turned back around to face the class, half the students were snickering, the younger of the aforementioned Verity twins the loudest of all. "Alright, alright... what's so funny you guys?" As her hair changed from bright pink to bright orange and then to a deep cobalt, the class continued laughing. It was all she could do to keep her face from turning bright red - a natural reaction expected from anyone - when she saw what had been written on the whiteboard in the back of the classroom. Suddenly, she was oddly regretful she had taken up Miss Nimah's offer to handle most of the math classes on her own...
